Through EDCASWorldwide Mike offers educational consultancy to further and higher education organisations in the public sector; professional  bodies; companies; training consultants; and organisations in the private and voluntary sector. Reflecting Mike's experience and expertise the focus is on programme, course, curriculum, module development and design at undergraduate level and postgraduate level. Mike has specific expertise in multidisciplinary programme design and operation. Other expertise includes management of programme validation, valuing learning in the work place through credit rating, developing recognition of prior learning (RPL/APEL) systems and delivering work-based learning. Mike is up-to-date with current developments in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Mike has well established connections with many universities and colleges around the UK and internationally. In setting up and managing EDCASWorldwide Mike has brought together a select team of associates who have more than 30 years experience and skills gained from working and researching in relevant areas.

More about Mike:

Mike is a Fellow of the UK's Higher Education Academy and previously held posts in different universities relating to teaching and research in Information Science and KnowIedge Management. Mike is also currently Consultant and Director to the Centre for Credit Rating at Napier University in Edinburgh. He was previously Director of the Centre for Customised Programmes at Napier University where he headed up a team of around 25 academic staff spread across four faculties and 15 academic schools. Mike developed and managed the Centre for Customised Programmes over fifteen years, a very large scheme that spans FE/HE levels and different award systems allowing individuals access to flexible programmes that suited their personal aspirations and particular career needs.
